Breastfeeding and working outside the home

Today's mothers can have many roles, in the home, in the workforce, in the community. By choice or necessity, many mothers find themselves returning to the workforce while their baby is still very young. Others are involved in completing their schooling or other academic studies.

I decided to breastfeed despite returning to work, to provide the best possible nutrition for my baby. I continued to express whilst working because of the health advantages it provided. I was motivated by the feelings of intimacy and bonding that breastfeeding gave me that were especially important when I needed to be away from him for long periods of the day. It was our way of re-connecting and it was nurturing and comfort only I could give.
